Charlie Crane x MUES Design: the Vichy collaboration

Why are Charlie Crane fans going to like our collaboration?

Charlie Crane chose our Vichy Brigitte pattern. Gichy tiles are timeless and wise. The gingham pattern is therefore perfect for a child's bedroom, it allows you to gently bring a nice little touch of elegance.
Then, this gingham has a small modern twist that makes it a decor suitable for children... who will grow up! The pattern was first worked with ink to obtain a watery and soft appearance. The game of superimpositions of bands, specific to gingham, has thus become transparent, lighter and more subtle. To create this pattern, we preferred to work freehand, without a guide, in order to obtain spontaneous, discreet and natural irregularities.
Your wallpaper is available for pre-order, why are you offering this system?
We actually don't have any stock! This has been the policy of Mues Design from the start. First of all, it allows us to be able to take out everything we want, we don't forbid ourselves anything, we can satisfy more people. Then, no stocks, no unsold items, and therefore... no waste! You have to wait 2 to 3 weeks to receive your Charlie Crane X Mues Design wallpaper, but it will be of high quality and its impact on the planet will remain limited.
Why is it important to create a nice room for your children?
We all have in mind a wallpaper, curtain or comforter pattern that accompanied us all our childhood. The bedroom is an important place that fully participates in the construction of the child! While decorating a baby's room may be obvious for some, sometimes even before pregnancy, it can become a real headache for others...
What are your recommendations for beautiful baby room decoration?
Parents often want a decor that is both beautiful and timeless. Vichy ticks all of these boxes. We also generally recommend the stripes of our Auguste and Ernest wallpapers and the gradients of our Séraphine or Yvonne ranges. Very simple and light floral patterns can also be a good option, like our models Côme, Thelma, Izia, Octave or even Clémence, Raphaëlle and Louise.
Are you for or against color in a baby's room?
Don't be afraid of color, because when applied in small touches, colors always give a happy and playful look to a bedroom. It can be in an alcove, behind shelves, above a base... When you are lost, the easiest way is always to start with a first element already selected, a cradle, a chair, a plaid... and to find the right combinations afterwards.

Now let's talk about light, what are your lighting tips?
It is important to consider the light in the room as well. Colors that are too cold are less suitable for interiors that are not very bright. In addition, we never recommend ceiling lamps that are often too cold and garish, the small sources of low and dim lights, when there are enough of them, are much prettier and just as effective!
How did Mues Design come about?
Melissa: The Mues Design brand was born almost 10 years ago. I was then coming out of my first professional experiences as a graphic designer. Not only did I want to be an entrepreneur, to create my own business, but I also wanted to be able to create freely. It was in tandem with another person that I created Mues Design. The first collections launched were well received. However, we preferred to end our partnership, because we had different visions... I wanted to continue the adventure with my sister Valentine. His communication-oriented profile (among others) was perfect to be able to continue developing Mues Design.
Valentine: I was living abroad when I joined the adventure! This forced us to adopt a method, to plan everything... good working bases from the start! I was living far away from my family then and Mues Design allowed me to have a daily link with my little sister. Melissa has always been very creative. The idea of working with her thrilled me! Like Mélissa, I have always liked decoration. Our mother was an ornamentalist and our father a cabinetmaker, we have always been immersed in all styles, all eras.
Before being a partner, you are first a sister. Is it easy to work as a family?
Melissa: I realize that it is pleasant and promising! Everyday life is quite simple, we really trust each other. Our partnerships are an excellent way to temporarily bring a third person into the adventure and to get your nose out of what we already know and master.
Valentine: I never thought I would one day work as a family and yet it became my main driving force! I feel a lot of joy in sharing our successes, a lot of evidence in facing challenges together. Communication is easy and immediate. We don't filter our moods as much as when we work with “normal” colleagues. We tell each other everything right away and it can end up in an argument! But it is also very effective and as a family, we always forgive each other! It's also easier to work with someone who shares the same values and references. The risk would be not to be able to disconnect, even at a family lunch...
Thanks to Mélissa and Valentine for their time.

And by the way, what is non-woven paper? It is a stronger and more durable wallpaper than woven wallpaper. It can be handled more easily and it is difficult to tear.
