A small piece of news has recently been added to our range of products for babies and children! After the iconic LEVO deckchair, the TIBU high chair, the KUMI cradle (and all the others...), discover the latest addition to the Charlie Crane family: the SABA, queen of small chairs, whose irresistible design will appeal to young and old alike. To find out more about this great novelty, we asked a few questions to Gaspard Tiné-Berès, head of the design department at Charlie Crane, who imagined the SABA.

1. Hello Gaspard! Can you tell us where the name SABA came from?

We have a system for finding the names of our products at Charlie Crane: 4 letters, consonant/vowel. SABA came when I saw my daughter sitting on the very first prototype of the chair, she looked like a little queen on her throne.

2. Was there a responsible approach in the creation of this small chair?

Yes, just like everything we do at Charlie Crane. First, it is “flat pack” - that is to say, it is sent in the flattest possible packaging. This reduces the impact of transport enormously. Then, the materials used are all natural and made in Europe: SABA is made of raw beech wood from Slovenia, 100% Italian wool felt and certified as cruelty- or chemical-free wool when dyed.

3. Can you tell us about the choice of subjects?

This chair has something rustic, a raw spirit and the materials are consistent with this identity: light beech without treatment, real wool in thick felt that guarantees both aesthetic and mechanical quality. It's simple but beautiful! In all objectivity;)

4. What are the areas of development of Charlie Crane's “kids” range?

We try to create iconic products!

So it's not easy and it takes time (laughs). But rather than releasing a lot of products every year (which would already exist or look like something already seen on the market), we try to innovate by offering families furniture that touches us. Furniture that they will really like, keep for a long time, transmit... Beyond the development part, we have a lot of exciting topics at Charlie Crane: already, we are working hard to relocate production as much as possible. Then, the team grew a lot in a short time and it's a real job to make everyone feel at home and happy to come to work in the morning. So far, we have only recruited pearls so we continue to grow... and to think big!

Ideal for children aged 18 months to 6 years, the SABA chair is likely to quickly become the darling of the whole house!
