Baby's first few times: what to expect and how to remember them

Your baby's first few times
First smile, first tooth, first steps... life with a baby is punctuated by many first times. To cherish these precious moments, we have published a series of stage maps. Let's go through all the first few times that await you with your baby.
From 1 or 2 months: first smile and first laughs
This is a first that promises a lot of emotion: smiles and laughs! From 1 or 2 months, your little one imitates you when he sees your smile. It is an emotional stage, synonymous with learning for your baby who imitates you. This mirror reflex will lead to real smiles. And laughter? It appears around the age of 4 months of your child.
From 3 months: baby sleeps at night
It is common to hear that babies sleep at around the 3rd or 4th month of age. Well, that's the theory... If your child is not yet around the clock, don't panic, it's normal. In fact, a full night for a baby is equivalent to 5 hours of sleep. Want to know more? We explain to you how babies sleep works in this article. In any case, you are going to enjoy this first night, keeping your fingers crossed that it will be the first of a long series.
From 6 months: the first tooth
This is a first that we would do without a bit, because it is painful... The first tooth, or rather the first two lower teeth - in general, they grow together - also marks a stage for parents who see their babies grow (too) quickly. And we're not even talking to you about the first tooth that falls out!
From 6 months: the first compote
Your baby is growing and finally, it's time to tackle dietary diversification. Milk bottles will soon make way for more solid food. While you are lovingly buying your carrots, apples (or compote) ready to be processed, you can already imagine your baby discovering these new tastes!
Between 6 and 12 months: the first “dad” or “mom”
The first sounds appear between 6 and 8 months. Babbling is an important step in learning phonemes. Help him develop his language by talking to him or singing. Who has never trained their baby to repeat Dad or Mom? So, when you finally hear him say these magic words, what a joy!
From 6-7 months: baby is sitting
Does your baby sit alone? What a big step! It's time to put him in his high chair for meals and small family moments.
Between 10 months and 18 months: the first steps
It all starts with attempts... hesitant and clumsy little steps, small falls, encouragement and laughter. Then, the big surprise when your baby takes his first steps. An intense emotion synonymous with... storage and layout of the house!
12 months: the first birthday
Your baby may not be fully aware of this event, but having their first birthday is a chance to celebrate your family! Remember, a year ago, you were in the process of giving birth to him (small tear that drips). So, get out the balloons, the little pointed hats and celebrate how far we've come. Look to the future, and all the other new things to come.
Cards - steps to immortalize your memories
To mark these first times, we have published a series of step cards for babies. Discover 24 original cards that will help you commemorate your baby's life, from birth to first birthday. A perfect way to capture memories and celebrate milestones in your baby's first year.
